Travel Tuesday: Arizona Holidays | Luminarias

Happy[Travel] Tuesday everyone! I know it seems odd to be so excited about a Tuesday, but I’m leaving for L.A. tomorrow (as in lower Alabama, a different kind of posh, beachside, fun…ahem). Anyway, I’m excited about going home, seeing the family, and indulging in grandma’s food (big smile).

I thought since I reminisced about Florida last week that it’s only fair to discuss Christmas in Arizona this week. I have to give Phoenix serious props for really getting in to the holidays. Much like Miami, Phoenix is a melting pot of cultures. Unlike Miami, Phoenix really celebrates those holidays! There are lights, festivals, and fun activities all over the place around here and I love that people are so into the spirit of the season!

This year I took a friend of mine to Las Noches de las Luminarias at the Desert Botanical Garden for her birthday. It was a first for both of us and it was magical (dreamy smile)! Not only were the Luminarias glowing, but the garden is also currently featuring a Chihuly glass exhibition. Β The two combined is absolutely beyond words! So, I think I’ll just show you instead…

And now, a little Chihuly for your enjoyment…

I cannot wait to go back and photograph some of these pieces during the day – especially these orange, yellow, red combinations!!

This one was my absolute favorite piece! It makes me feel like I did when I was a 7 year old princess (smile)…
