Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge | 50 years or older

This week’s Black & White Photo Challenge prompt is “50 years or older.” I must admit that at first I was a little stumped on this one but then I had a bit of a “duh” moment and realized that practically every building I’ve photographed in the last several of months fit that bill. But I really like to try for the less obvious on these challenges so when I ran across these documents we’d uncovered during the Great Christmas Cleanse of 2013, I thought they would be perfect! In addition to being interesting from a historical standpoint, they go right along with what is quickly becoming “family month” here on the blog – double win (smile)!

Civil war, amnesty oath, United States, military

Postcard to my grandpa from a friend

*I apologize for the photo quality as these are photographs of documents rather than scans. I did what I could to clean them up a bit for legibility.
