Weekly Photo Challenge: Seasonal Transition

Arizona is a bit funny when it comes to the transition of seasons. Even though it feels like winter (well, Arizona winter), there are still beautiful autumn scenes to be found, especially down in the valleys. Instead of Black Friday chaos, my friend and I happened upon this peaceful picnic spot and had a nice trek through the canyon. It was perfection… (smile)

This week’s photo challenge is “transition.”

  2. That does look like a perfect spot for a picnic and a hike. I do so love the fall colours but don’t really see them here in Texas. We did see some though in Arizona this past week when we were on the Apache Trail and they were gorgeous against the colours of the rocks.
We really loved all of our trip to Phoenix and visited the Tonto Monument like you suggested. Very cool and great view from the cliff dwelling. Thank you for telling me about that. You live in a very beautiful state from what we saw. I think we might just end up back there again one day. πŸ™‚

    • Yay – so glad you guys enjoyed your trip!! It really is so beautiful out in the Superstitions πŸ™‚ I can’t wait to hear more about it! This was actually just a bit further north in the Tonto Natl Forest. I do love the diversity of landscapes – and temps – in this state. Not that the Grand Canyon isn’t amazing, but there’s so much more once you start looking for it.
